**Job Title**
Staff Applied AI Software Engineer (Python) – Patient
**Role Summary**
Senior software engineer specializing in AI‑driven agentic systems for patient health management. Own the design, delivery, and operation of production‑grade AI components that provide accurate, safe, and empathetic health guidance within a cloud‑native platform.
**Expectations**
* 6+ years of professional software engineering with at least one significant Python‑centric engagement.
* Proven life‑cycle experience on AI products at scale (evaluation, launch, iterative improvement).
* Strong grasp of engineering best practices: automated testing, CI/CD, DevOps (“build it – run it”).
* Product‑oriented mindset, able to balance business objectives with technical trade‑offs.
* Fluent in English for daily communication and documentation.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Design, ship, and maintain production‑grade agentic AI systems that answer patient health questions.
2. Collaborate with data scientists to build evaluation pipelines, safety guardrails, and performance metrics.
3. Conduct offline validation and live A/B tests to iterate on model behavior and user experience.
4. Develop core agentic capabilities: memory modules, reasoning orchestration, tool adapters, fallback and fail‑safe mechanisms.
5. Own system performance, observability, and security—create dashboards, define SLO/SLI, enforce security posture.
6. Ensure privacy and security by design, integrating compliance requirements into code and infrastructure.
7. Mentor teammates on trade‑offs, coding standards, and architectural choices.
**Required Skills**
* Advanced Python programming and scalable system design.
* Experience with agentic or conversational AI architectures.
* Cloud‑native, distributed platform working knowledge (containers, orchestration).
* CI/CD tooling, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices.
* Observability stack (metrics, logs, tracing) and SLO/SLI definition.
* Security fundamentals (OWASP, data encryption, privacy compliance).
* A/B testing, offline evaluation pipelines, and performance tuning.
* Strong written and verbal communication in English.
* (Desirable) Experience in medical/healthcare domain, regulatory understanding.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
* Certifications not mandatory; relevant DevOps, cloud provider (AWS/GCP/Azure), or AI certifications are a plus.
