Job Description
Job title: Apprentice Service Engineer Role Summary: Entry‑level engineering apprentice training to become a qualified Service Engineer in HVAC, Ventilation, and Smoke & Fire Service. Works on-site, supports senior engineers, and completes Level 3 Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering Technician qualification. Expectations: - Demonstrate motivation to learn, take responsibility, and grow. - Be well‑organised, reliable, and manage time effectively. - Work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate professionally with colleagues and customers. - Seek feedback, ask questions, and own personal development. Key Responsibilities: - Assist with maintenance, repair, commissioning, and servicing of HVAC equipment. - Travel to customer sites and company locations as required. - Support the collection and delivery of parts and consumables. - Attend workshops, training sessions, and off‑site learning activities. - Complete coursework, tests, and assessments for Level 3 qualification. - Maintain an evidence portfolio documenting learning progress. - Follow health & safety procedures, including dynamic risk assessments. - Build professional relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Required Skills: - GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in Maths, Science, and English. - Full UK driving licence. - Basic computer proficiency. - Fluent spoken and written English. Required Education & Certifications: - Enrolment in a Level 3 Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering Technician programme (qualification achieved during apprenticeship). - N/A for additional certifications.
