Job Title: Staff Artificial Intelligence Researcher
Role Summary:
Lead advanced AI research to develop and deploy machine learning solutions for revenue cycle management in healthcare. Drive end-to-end experimentation, translate cutting‑edge research into production‑ready assets, and collaborate closely with product, engineering, and domain experts.
Expectations:
- Design and run rigorous ML experiments using state‑of‑the‑art techniques.
- Validate research findings through statistical analyses, user studies, and adversarial testing.
- Publish and present findings internally and in the wider research community.
- Mentor junior researchers and guide cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and analyze ML experiments, establishing baselines and appropriate metrics.
- Identify, adapt, and implement novel research for company use‑cases.
- Define and enforce evaluation protocols (offline metrics, user studies, red‑team testing).
- Specify data annotation needs, create guidelines, and monitor QA.
- Collaborate with domain experts, product managers, and engineers to refine problem scope and constraints.
- Produce reusable research assets: datasets, modular code, evaluation suites, documentation.
- Work with ML engineers to optimize training/inference pipelines for production.
- Contribute to academic publications and represent the organization in research forums.
Required Skills:
- Deep expertise in machine learning & deep learning algorithms.
- Proficiency with PEFT/LoRA, adapters, fine‑tuning, RLHF/RLAIF (PPO, DPO, GRPO).
- Strong hypothesis‑driven experimentation, ablation studies, and statistical evaluation.
- Advanced programming in Python (preferred), C++, or Java.
- Experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, NumPy, and related frameworks.
- Solid mathematics: probability, linear algebra, calculus.
- Domain knowledge in NLP, symbolic reasoning, or speech processing preferred.
- Ability to translate research insights into product roadmaps and technical specs.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field (preferred).
- Master’s with exceptional research or industry experience also acceptable.
- 3–5 years of AI/ML research in applied or product‑focused settings.
- Publications in top-tier AI/ML conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, CVPR) are a plus.
