Job Description
**Job Title:** Solutions Architect **Role Summary:** Design comprehensive end‑to‑end technical architectures for new and evolving platforms, define integration patterns and data exchange models, and document API/interface specifications. Collaborate with engineering, product, pre‑sales, security, data, and compliance teams to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and compliant solutions, while driving innovation and architectural best practices across the organization. **Expactations:** - Deliver architecture artefacts that align with strategic technology direction. - Produce clear technical documentation (high‑ and low‑level diagrams, API contracts, configuration requirements). - Provide architectural insight during pre‑sales, RFPs, and customer workshops. - Champion modern engineering practices and mentor teammates. - Ensure designs meet security, compliance, and regulatory standards. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **End‑to‑End Architecture Design** – Create scalable, maintainable architectures for new platforms and cross‑system integrations. 2. **Integration Patterns & Data Models** – Define API‑led, event‑driven, messaging, batch, and streaming patterns; establish data schemas, lineage, and interoperability. 3. **Interface & API Specifications** – Document payload structures, mapping, versioning, governance, and security models. 4. **Technical Pre‑Sales Support** – Outline solution options, risks, and assumptions for proposals, RFPs, and client presentations. 5. **Innovation & Leadership** – Evaluate emerging technologies, promote best practices, and contribute to strategic initiatives like cloud modernisation and platform convergence. 6. **Cross‑Functional Collaboration** – Work with product, engineering, security, data, and operations to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and deliverable. 7. **Governance Representation** – Represent architecture in project steering, solution reviews, and design forums; align with audit, integration, and compliance requirements. **Required Skills:** - Expertise in distributed, cloud‑native, and multi‑system architecture design. - Proficiency in API design, integration architectures, and data modelling. - Knowledge of Azure, M365 ecosystem, identity platforms, and relational/NoSQL databases. - Strong understanding of security, compliance, and financial regulatory frameworks (FCA, PSD2, GDPR). - Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing ability. - Mentoring capability and innovative mindset. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture framework qualification. - Azure Architect Design certification (AZ‑305) or comparable. - Experience in regulated environments (financial services) is highly preferred.
