Job Description
**Job title** Senior Software Engineer – Integration & API Focus **Role Summary** Founding engineering lead in a new UK office, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust API‑driven integrations and services. Works cross‑region with US teams to set up engineering standards, hiring, and operational practices. **Expectations** - Lead architectural decisions for integration infrastructure. - Own a significant portion of the integration stack from design to deployment. - Guide onboarding and culture of the emerging London engineering team. - Deliver rapid, secure, and reliable code that directly supports clients. - Collaborate across time zones with internal stakeholders and external vendors. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, develop, and maintain RESTful services, webhooks, and asynchronous workflows. - Integrate with third‑party platforms (ERP, CRM, finance, HRIS, etc.) using APIs. - Troubleshoot and resolve integration failures, API errors, and data inconsistencies. - Ensure security, performance, and reliability of all integrations. - Create clear documentation for integration logic, APIs, and data mappings. - Implement monitoring, logging, alerts, and retries for observability. - Shape engineering culture, hiring, and skill development for the London team. **Required Skills** - Strong experience with REST APIs and JSON/XML payloads. - Proficiency in Python or equivalent backend language. - Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Debugging expertise using logs, monitoring tools, and API clients. - Comfortable working with relational databases and SQL. - Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred). - AWS Certification (optional but advantageous). ---
