Job Description: **Job Title:** Accounts Assistant – Credit Control **Role Summary:** Hands‑on Accounts Assistant with an emphasis on credit control. Responsible for full cycle invoice processing, debt chasing, and financial record maintenance using Sage. Requires strong organisational skills, experience in debt recovery, and the ability to work independently. **Expectations:** - Proven non‑junior Accounts Assistant experience. - Advanced Sage proficiency; must be able to navigate and report within the system. - Demonstrated success in reducing aged debt through proactive collection. - Confident, persistent telephone and written communication, assertive when necessary. - Highly organised, accurate, self‑directed, and able to meet deadlines without supervision. - Strong Excel capability and general IT literacy. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Process all purchase and sales invoices end‑to‑end in Sage. 2. Manage full credit control cycle: produce aged debtor reports, contact customers, and chase overdue payments. 3. Resolve invoice and payment disputes swiftly and professionally. 4. Issue invoices, credit notes, and customer statements. 5. Conduct bank reconciliations. 6. Support month‑end closing and management account preparation. 7. Maintain accurate, compliant financial records and reports. **Required Skills:** - Advanced Sage accounting software experience. - Debt recovery and credit control expertise. - Strong telephone presence, firm yet professional. - High attention to detail and organisational rigor. - Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas). - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ability to analyse and interpret financial information. **Required Education & Certifications:** - AAT qualification or currently studying for AAT (desirable). ---
