Job Description
Job Title: Occupational Health & Safety Co‑Op Student – Gas & Pipelines Role Summary: Provide support to the Health & Safety team during a 4‑month co‑op, focusing on safety communications, field inspections, data analysis, and onboarding materials for ATCO Gas & Pipelines. Expectations: - Enrolled in a Canadian university co‑op/internship program within an OHS, science, engineering, or related field. - Available for the full 4‑month term beginning May 2026. - Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and basic data‑analysis skills. Key Responsibilities: - Develop safety campaign content and update safety materials in Intelex and SharePoint. - Assist with facility and field inspections, documenting hazards and verifying controls. - Participate in field tailgate meetings, team meetings, and support safety initiatives. - Analyze safety statistics, generate reports, and identify trends. - Prepare orientation and training materials for new hires. - Conduct gap analyses for legislation and internal standards. - Organize files, update safety program documents, and handle administrative tasks. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Basic data analysis ability (Excel functions, data interpretation). - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Organizational and time‑management skills. - Comfortable working in both field and office settings. Required Education & Certifications: - Currently enrolled in a co‑op or internship program at a recognized Canadian university. - Major in Occupational Health & Safety, science, engineering, or a related discipline. - Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
