Job Description
Job Title: Graduate OT Cyber Security Engineer Role Summary Launch a career in Industrial Automation and OT Cyber‑Security with a 2‑year graduate programme. Work on real projects delivering PLC, SCADA, MES, and control‑panel solutions while acquiring OT‑security expertise and customer‑facing skills. Expectations • 2‑year full‑time placement across Industrial Automation projects. • 70‑20‑10 learning model: 70 % on‑the‑job, 20 % mentorship, 10 % formal training & certifications. • Travel to customer sites for installation, testing and commissioning. • Continuous skill development in OT‑security best practices and professional certifications. Key Responsibilities • Design, program and debug PLC and SCADA logic in a manufacturing environment. • Develop and maintain MES‐interface modules and control‑panel hardware specifications. • Perform site testing, commissioning and hand‑over to clients. • Produce technical documentation, system diagrams and operation manuals. • Apply OT‑security controls (network segmentation, access management, anomaly detection) to protect critical assets. • Engage with customers to gather requirements, provide status updates and troubleshoot field issues. Required Skills • Programming proficiency in PLC languages (Ladder, Structured Text, etc.). • Familiarity with SCADA and MES platforms. • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities. • Self‑directed learning, prioritisation and multi‑tasking under pressure. • Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service and teamwork. • Strategic thinking and business‑oriented mindset. Required Education & Certifications • Degree (or equivalent) in Software Development, Computer Science, Cyber‑Security Engineering or related field. • Full UK driving licence (or must be obtained within 12 months). • Commitment to obtain relevant OT‑security certifications (e.g., IEC 62443, ISO 27001, CompTIA Security+) through the programme’s formal training.
