Job Description
Job Title: Senior Data Engineer – SAS Role Summary Senior Data Engineer specialized in SAS platform, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise‑scale data ingestion and transformation pipelines; collaborates with cross‑functional teams within Agile/Scrum to deliver high‑quality, high‑performance analytics solutions. Expactations - Perform hands‑on SAS development (SAS 9.4 DI, SAS Studio); preferred experience in SAS Viya 4 and SAS RTENGINE. - Manage complex, high‑volume data integration tasks to support advanced analytics and risk assessment. - Apply data quality, governance, and security best practices across all pipelines. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous process improvement. - Maintain Sc clearance (highly preferred). Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines using SAS tools. - Integrate and consolidate data from multiple complex sources into enterprise analytics platforms. - Translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and high‑performing data solutions. - Optimize workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability. - Troubleshoot complex data issues and implement sustainable fixes. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and mentor junior staff. - Support Agile/Scrum delivery, ensuring timely sprint completion and continuous improvement. Required Skills - Extensive hands‑on experience with SAS 9.4 (DI) and SAS Studio. - Preferred experience with SAS Viya 4 and SAS RTENGINE. - Strong SQL and data modeling capabilities. - Proven ability to build data pipelines in enterprise‑scale, high‑volume environments. - Knowledge of ETL tools (Pentaho, Talend) and data virtualization (Denodo) is desirable. - Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous. - Experience with Oracle databases is a plus. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills. - Demonstrated experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). - Certifications in SAS (e.g., SAS Certified Advanced Programmer, SAS Certified Base Programmer) are beneficial. - Security clearance: SC clearance preferred.
