Job Description
**Job Title** Interim M&E Quantity Surveyor **Role Summary** Provide commercial and cost management for mechanical and electrical (M&E) packages on a large, high-value data centre development. Work within a specialist MEP cost consultancy to oversee procurement, budgeting, risk, and change control, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost reporting throughout the programme. **Expactations** - Commence immediately and work independently within a live project setting. - Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with clients, contractors, and design teams. - Deliver timely commercial reports, cash‑flow forecasts, and variation assessments. - Contribute to final account negotiations and overall contract value management. **Key Responsibilities** - Commercially manage M&E packages, from scope definition to final account. - Analyse tender packages and conduct subcontractor procurement for mechanical and electrical works. - Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses. - Evaluate and agree on variations, changes, and risks to ensure value for money. - Monitor cash‑flow and support budgetary control. - Liaison with client, contractor and design disciplines to resolve commercial issues. - Assist in final account preparation and negotiation. **Required Skills** - Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor on large‑scale, mission‑critical projects. - Strong commercial reporting and stakeholder management capabilities. - Ability to work autonomously within a fast‑paced, technical environment. - In‑depth knowledge of NEC or JCT contract forms and their implications for MEP works. - Proficiency in cost forecasting, risk management, and change control processes. - Demonstrated experience in MEP contractor or specialist cost consultancy settings. **Required Education & Certifications** - Degree‑equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Building Services, or related discipline. - RICS chartered or actively pursuing RICS chartered status. - Relevant experience with large‑scale industrial or data‑centre projects is desirable.
