**Job Title:** Project Management Intern
**Role Summary:**
A 12‑week summer internship focused on quality improvement (QI) and project management within a healthcare Quality Department. The intern will lead and support multidisciplinary improvement projects, applying Lean/continuous‑improvement tools, data analysis, and project‑management practices to enhance quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
**Expectations:**
- Attend virtual and on‑site meetings; maintain reliability and professionalism.
- Exhibit strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Communicate findings clearly in written reports, presentations, and workshops.
- Demonstrate collaboration with cross‑functional teams in a dynamic, change‑oriented setting.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead QI and PM activities for multiple departments (≈65% of time).
- Conduct process studies, workflow assessments, staffing/resource analyses to identify improvement opportunities.
- Translate quantitative/qualitative data into actionable insights for decision makers.
- Develop project proposals, charters, work plans, timelines, and status documents (risks, issues, decisions).
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and documentation for senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Apply QI tools (A3 thinking, value‑stream mapping, root‑cause analysis, rapid‑cycle improvement).
- Co‑facilitate improvement workshops, stakeholder meetings, and change‑management activities.
- Coordinate communication and logistics across project teams and departments.
- Participate in structured learning on Lean, PM, and high‑reliability operations (≈20% of time).
- Build and maintain relationships with project clients (department leaders, clinicians, administrators).
- Refine QI/PM tools, templates, and internal processes; share insights via summaries and presentations.
- Perform additional tasks supporting PMO and Quality Department priorities.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and data‑interpretation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information clearly.
- Team collaboration; adaptability in evolving/ambiguous environments.
- Detail‑oriented organization and structure of work.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Industrial & Operations Engineering, Public Health, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of project‑management fundamentals (scope, risk, schedule, stakeholder management).
**Desired Qualifications:**
- Prior experience or internship in industrial engineering, Lean/Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or project‑management methodologies.
- Familiarity with information‑management or project‑management software.
