Job Description: Job Title: Product Designer Role Summary: Own end‑to‑end design for key product areas (research flows, workspaces, collaboration, personalization, growth, new products) in a fast‑moving AI research platform. Deliver complex, information‑dense interfaces that feel simple for a broad user base, iterate quickly with engineered builds, and influence product direction through data‑driven insights. Expectations: - Operate with high ambiguity, shipping MVPs before final specs. - Make design decisions without a formal design system or rigid process. - Own design quality and strategic product impact, while collaborating closely with a small engineering team. Key Responsibilities: - Lead end‑to‑end design for major product domains, setting visual and interaction standards. - Prototype and ship designs quickly via Figma, A/B tests, or direct code (Cursor, Claude Code). - Iterate on interfaces for millions of users across PhD researchers, undergrads, and doctors. - Build prototypes using React/TypeScript when warranted. - Contribute to brand and marketing design to support product positioning. - Identify product gaps early using data, user feedback, and product sense. Required Skills: - 4+ years of product design experience in startups, AI, or fast‑paced environments. - Portfolio demonstrating problem definition, design thinking, and outcomes; live links preferred. - Strong visual design skills: layout, typography, spacing, polish. - Experience leading large, complex projects with ambiguous “right” solutions. - Familiarity with front‑end tech (React/TypeScript) and AI prototyping tools (Cursor, Claude Code). - Excellent prioritization, focusing on high‑impact work over perfection. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field (equivalent experience acceptable).
