Job Description
Job title: Associate Engineer – Mechanical Role Summary: Deliver technical engineering support to Project Managers and Bid Managers on mechanical aspects of bulk material handling projects, covering early FEED, tender development, detailed design, supplier coordination, and project documentation. Expectations: Build a strong technical foundation in mechanical systems for bulk handling, contribute to tender proposals, support project delivery, attend periodic UK site visits, and progress toward a Mechanical Engineer role. Key Responsibilities: - Provide engineering support on live projects and bid activities. - Develop mechanical scopes, layouts, and technical deliverables. - Design components of bulk material handling systems (conveyors, silos, hoppers, bucket elevators, etc.). - Perform mechanical calculations, design checks, and technical evaluations. - Review and coordinate supplier technical information, drawings, and datasheets. - Prepare engineering documentation, including reports, schedules, registers, and technical submissions. - Liaise with suppliers and stakeholders to resolve technical queries. - Assist with cost estimation and technical input for tender submissions. - Attend occasional site visits in the UK to support delivery. Required Skills: - Mechanical Engineering or related degree. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). - Experience with AutoCAD 2D; knowledge of 3D CAD software is an advantage. - Ability to communicate technical information clearly and confidently. - Structured, logical problem‑solving approach. - Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. - No additional certifications required, though relevant professional qualifications are welcomed.
