**Job Title** Director of Security **Role Summary** Lead all security operations for a luxury resort, ensuring protection of guests, staff, facilities, and high‑value assets. Manage armed guard teams, emergency response, security technology, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. **Expectations** - Deliver a secure, welcoming environment that aligns with a five‑star resort standard. - Maintain full compliance with armed security, fire safety, and crisis management regulations. - Operate flexibly, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call shifts. - Maintain confidentiality and professional discretion at all times. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Oversee armed guard deployment, patrols, and incident response. 2. Develop, implement, and audit security policies, procedures, and risk assessments. 3. Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate security personnel. 4. Coordinate emergency plans, fire safety, threat assessment, and crisis management. 5. Manage security technology: CCTV, access control, alarms, electronic patrol systems. 6. Protect and monitor fine art, antiques, and luxury furnishings; oversee transport and storage protocols. 7. Liaise with executive leadership, facilities, curatorial teams, and external law enforcement/agencies. 8. Conduct monthly safety and security meetings; prepare performance reports and budget documentation. 9. Handle confidential investigations and resolve safety concerns. 10. Perform all administrative duties, documentation, and correspondence. **Required Skills** - Extensive knowledge of armed security, use‑of‑force, and emergency management. - Proven leadership and team management in a security or law‑enforcement setting. - Superior critical‑thinking, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities. - Strong written and verbal communication; professional guest service orientation. - Excellent organization, time‑management, and multiservice coordination. - High attention to detail; discretion with confidential information. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. - Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform basic math. - Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on call. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field. - Minimum 5 years of proven experience in security or law‑enforcement leadership. - Current firearms qualification and licensing applicable to armed security operation. - Valid state security guard certification (e.g., Blue‑Ribbon). ---
