About the Company

The Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor (SNP) serves the People of the City of New York by promoting the fair and equitable administration of justice for those of all races, colors, genders, sexual orientations, religions and nations of origin. Our mission is to protect the public and prevent overdose deaths by investigating and prosecuting high-level narcotics trafficking organizations and illicit prescription drug distribution networks, and by responding to community complaints about persistent drug activity and associated violence. Targeted prosecutions and alternatives to incarceration are essential components of an effective strategy to save lives and reduce arrests. SNP is built on a task force model and collaborates closely with the city’s five District Attorneys, who appoint the Special Narcotics Prosecutor. The office has citywide jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute felony narcotics cases and related crimes.

Job Description
**Job title** Intern – Web Application Developer **Role Summary** Part‑time internship focused on designing, developing, and documenting web applications using .NET technologies, converting legacy Microsoft Access/VBA solutions to modern web services, supporting SharePoint sites, and writing SQL Server operations. **Expactations** Apply SDLC/Agile practices; collaborate in requirement gathering; produce maintainable code; meet delivery schedules; document technical specifications; troubleshoot and debug; communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** - Develop and enhance web applications with .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON. - Reverse engineer existing Microsoft Access/VBA applications and rebuild functionality as .NET web solutions. - Write and optimize SQL Server DML statements, perform data normalization, and ensure database integrity. - Create, manage, and maintain SharePoint sites, pages, web parts, and ad‑hoc SSRS reports. - Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to backlog refinement, and assist in writing system/user requirement documents. - Conduct unit, integration, and performance testing; debug issues; maintain code quality and version control. **Required Skills** - Strong proficiency in C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and .NET Core. - Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, and XML. - SQL Server knowledge: DML, SSRS reporting, data normalization. - Familiarity with SharePoint development (sites, lists, web parts). - Understanding of SDLC/Agile workflows and version control. - Troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment or recent graduation in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Authorization to work in the United States. ---
