Job Description
Job Title: Data Scientist Role Summary: Data Scientist collaborates with Product Managers and Data Analysts to design, prototype, and launch data-driven products. The role translates business and customer needs into technical product requirements, builds scalable machine learning models, and delivers analytical insights and visualizations that drive commercial viability. Expectations: - Deliver clear, actionable data insights that support informed business decisions. - Own rapid prototyping and proof‑of‑concept development to validate new product ideas. - Work cross‑functionally to define data structures, feature sets, scoring methods, and delivery formats. - Balance multiple projects, meet deadlines, and proactively manage risks. - Exhibit strong communication, curiosity, and commercial awareness in telecom, banking, utilities, or data‑consultancy contexts. Key Responsibilities: - Identify and define new data product opportunities using advanced analytics, ML, and large‑scale data processing. - Evaluate emerging AI technologies for suitability within the Customer Intelligence Platform. - Translate business/customer needs into technical product specifications and delivery plans. - Lead rapid prototyping and proof‑of‑concept development using Databricks notebooks and ML techniques. - Own technical product definition, including data structures, feature sets, scoring methodologies, model architectures, and delivery formats. - Define and monitor technical success metrics (data coverage, refresh latency, model stability) alongside commercial KPIs. - Support product launch with internal enablement materials for sales and client‑facing teams. - Drive continuous product optimization using usage analytics, customer feedback, and platform performance insights. Required Skills: - 1–3 years of analytics or data science experience. - Practical knowledge of Delta Lake, versioned datasets, data pipelines, orchestration, and scheduling. - Proficient in Python and/or SQL for querying, data manipulation, and model validation. - Experience designing data products from large‑scale transactional, behavioral, or marketing datasets. - Understanding of data modeling concepts (fact/dimension models, feature engineering, aggregations). - Ability to manage multiple projects, plan backward from deadlines, and identify risks. - Strong written and verbal communication, influence, and collaboration skills. - Commercial experience in telecom, banking, utilities, or data‑consultancy sectors (beneficial). Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field (minimum). Advanced degrees or related certifications (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, MLOps) are advantageous.
