Job Description
Job Title: Data Architect Role Summary: Design and evolve the end‑to‑end data and systems architecture that underpins business operations in an insurance environment. Deliver short‑term high‑impact solutions while steering long‑term strategy, and lead a cross‑functional team through mentoring and standardisation. Expectations: - Provide immediate, scalable changes to systems and data architecture. - Align technical solutions with business strategy, regulatory, audit and compliance requirements. - Balance rapid delivery of critical updates with thoughtful, future‑ready design. Key Responsibilities: - Review and assess current systems architecture, infrastructure and data management practices. - Define and implement scalable architecture that meets regulatory, audit and compliance needs. - Design data ingestion pipelines, data quality frameworks and data security standards. - Analyze and enhance existing integrations, APIs and data processing workflows. - Create architecture templates, documentation and best‑practice standards. - Lead, coach and develop a team of data and systems engineers. Required Skills: - Proven hands‑on experience designing and implementing data and systems architecture in insurance or highly regulated sectors. - Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver complex short‑term requirements within a strategic design framework. - Expertise in data modelling, integration patterns, API design, data quality and security. - Leadership and mentoring skills with a record of developing junior team members. - Analytical, detail‑oriented problem solving and a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field. - Relevant architecture or cloud certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Snowflake Data Architect) preferred.
