**Job Title** Customs Controller (Customs Inspector) – Contract for Persons with Disabilities **Role Summary** A one‑year contract position within the Normandy Inter‑Regional Customs Directorate, tasked with controlling commercial operations, ensuring compliance with customs duties and taxes, and conducting investigations. Successful completion of mandatory training leads to possible permanent appointment. **Expectations** - Belong to an eligible disability category as defined by French law. - Hold at least a high‑school diploma (BAC) or equivalent Level 4 qualification. - Provide authentic documentation; undergo background and credential verification. - Complete an 18‑week theoretical training at the National Customs School (La Rochelle) followed by a practical internship. - Demonstrate loyalty, integrity, and the ability to work both independently and in a team. **Key Responsibilities** - Inspect imported/exported goods to verify correct application of customs duties, taxes, and formalities. - Conduct on‑site and documentary investigations of commercial entities to detect irregularities. - Draft specialized reports for the regional customs administration. - Collaborate with customs teams to ensure consistent enforcement of regulations. **Required Skills** - Strong knowledge of customs legislation and tax regimes. - Analytical and investigative abilities; attention to detail. - Effective written and verbal communication for report preparation. - Proficiency with standard office software and customs information systems. - Ability to work under supervision and within multidisciplinary teams. **Required Education & Certifications** - Minimum: French Baccalauréat or equivalent Level 4 diploma. - Medical certificate (if video‑conference interview is requested). - Proof of eligibility under the specified disability categories. - Authorization for diploma verification (as per customs recruitment form). - Valid identity document confirming French nationality.
