Job Description
**Job Title:** Vehicle Chassis Lead Engineer **Role Summary:** Lead the design, development, and production implementation of vehicle chassis systems—including suspension, steering, braking, and frame—for innovative solar‑electric three‑wheel vehicles. Drive cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure chassis performance, manufacturability, and compliance with homologation standards. **Expectations:** - 5–7 years of proven chassis engineering experience on automotive, motorcycle, or 3‑wheel platforms. - Ability to lead technical development from concept through production while coordinating suppliers and fabricators. - Strong attention to detail, precision craftsmanship, and effective communication across multidisciplinary teams. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and engineer suspension, steering, braking, and chassis frame systems; integrate with vehicle controls and other subsystems. - Produce and interpret CAD models, detailed drawings, GD&T specifications, and packaging layouts (CATIA V5‑6). - Conduct analytical studies, simulations, and calculations to validate kinematics, dynamics, stability, ride comfort, and safety. - Manage supplier relationships for outsourcing, fabrication, and manufacturing of chassis components. - Lead documentation creation and maintenance per company engineering processes. - Define and verify compliance and homologation requirements for chassis systems. - Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to establish functional parameters, installation procedures, and interface standards. **Required Skills:** - Advanced chassis system design and development (suspension, steering, braking). - Proficiency in CATIA V5‑6 CAD modeling and interpretation of technical drawings/GD&T. - Knowledge of chassis materials, manufacturing processes (casting, forging, machining, stamping, extrusion, joining, welding, bonding). - Experience with analytical tools and simulation software for kinematic and dynamic analysis. - Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities. - Familiarity with rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing, and series production assembly. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). - Additional certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are optional but not required.
