Job Description
Job Title: BIM Modeller (Bentley – MEP) Role Summary Produce, coordinate, and audit high‑quality 3D CAD models for MEP systems on a major railway infrastructure project. Manage model quality, clash detection, and data flow within the ProjectWise Common Data Environment, ensuring compliance with UK BIM standards and the project’s BIM Execution Plan. Expectations - Deliver accurate and detailed BIM outputs that meet project standards. - Maintain consistent modeling practices across disciplines. - Act as the liaison between BIM managers, discipline leads, and supply chain. - Support continuous improvement of BIM processes and quality assurance. Key Responsibilities - Create and maintain detailed 3D models using Bentley OpenBuilding Designer, MicroStation, and ProjectWise. - Conduct clash avoidance and suppression rule application to optimise model integration. - Liaise with discipline BIM leads to resolve coordination issues and ensure compliance with the BEP. - Perform quality checks, internal audits, and clash detection before model submission. - Manage model information flow within the ProjectWise Common Data Environment. - Generate construction drawings and model geometry in line with the Component Catalogue. - Support and guide project team members on BIM‑related technical matters. - Contribute to regular BIM deliverable status reporting and compliance monitoring. Required Skills - Proficiency in Bentley iTwin Design Review, ProjectWise, OpenBuilding Designer, and MicroStation. - Strong understanding of MEP modeling for infrastructure/railway projects. - Experience with UK BIM Standards (BS 1192, ISO 19650) and clash detection tools. - Excellent coordination, communication, and problem‑solving skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline (MEP, Civil, or Construction Engineering). - Minimum 3 years of BIM modeling experience on major infrastructure/transportation projects. - Knowledge of UK BIM standards; BIM certification (e.g., Autodesk or equivalent) is advantageous but not mandatory.
