Job Description
**Job Title** Learning and Development Trainer **Role Summary** Execute a 14‑month training program for independent optometry members, delivering classroom, in‑office, and online sessions. Work with Business Coaches to assess learning needs, recommend solutions, and facilitate new‑hire orientation and skill development. Provide expertise to members and office managers on training implementation, procedures and best practices, ensuring a professional, high‑quality learning experience. **Expectations** - Attend to detail and pursue quality in all tasks - Communicate consistently and clearly - Organize and maintain processes for easy access to information - Focus on outcomes and exceed performance standards - Manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks - Adapt proactively to change, remaining flexible and positive **Key Responsibilities** - Deliver training programs (classroom, online, in‑office) to optometry members and at industry events - Assess training needs in partnership with Business Coaches and recommend solutions - Facilitate new‑hire orientation and specialty skills training - Provide direction to members and office managers on training implementation, procedures and best practices - Collaborate with colleagues on content creation, organization, and idea sharing - Support training initiatives across British Columbia and Manitoba, traveling as required **Required Skills** - Exceptional customer service and communication - Strong time‑management and organizational abilities - Self‑motivation and ability to work independently or as part of a team, both in person and virtually - Ability to adapt training to diverse learning styles and environments - Results‑oriented mindset with a focus on achieving objectives - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) **Required Education & Certifications** - Valid provincial license or certification from a nationally accredited association (e.g., Optician, Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant – CCOA) ---
