Job Description
**Job Title**: Apprentice Warehouse & Logistics Operative **Role Summary**: Assist in the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of pharmaceutical goods while ensuring strict adherence to Good Distribution Practice (GDP), MHRA Wholesale Distribution Authorisation (WDA) licence, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Gain hands‑on experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and compliance within an apprentice learning framework. **Expectations**: - Complete a 15‑month apprenticeship training in Supply Chain Warehouse Operations (Level 2). - Spend at least 20 % of working hours on structured training and study. - Demonstrate competency in safe handling of temperature‑sensitive and controlled‑drug inventory. - Support the Responsible Person in maintaining regulatory compliance and reporting discrepancies. **Key Responsibilities**: 1. **Goods Inwards** - Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries against documentation. - Record batch numbers, expiry dates, and storage locations. - Immediately place sensitive stock into appropriate temperature‑controlled areas. 2. **Stock Handling & Storage** - Store goods following GDP and safety protocols. - Maintain accurate stock records for audits. - Operate forklift or pallet truck safely when required. - Conduct regular stock checks and report anomalies. - Secure controlled drugs in designated locked cabinets. 3. **Order Picking & Packing** - Pick and pack items accurately, double‑checking against customer orders. - Use protective packaging and correct labeling to preserve compliance. 4. **Dispatch & Distribution** - Ensure timely, accurate shipment of orders. - Pack temperature‑sensitive products with validated packaging and temperature loggers. - Book courier and palletised collections and track dispatches. - Dispatch controlled drugs per legal requirements. 5. **Compliance & Quality Assurance** - Follow GDP guidelines, WDA licence, and SOPs at all times. - Maintain accurate records of batch numbers, expiry dates, and storage conditions. - Monitor and document fridge temperatures; report excursions or non‑conformances. - Identify and isolate quarantined stock. - Keep warehouse clean, organised, and secure to meet regulatory and safety standards. 6. **Health, Safety & Security** - Adhere to health & safety policies; report hazards, near misses, or incidents. - Inspect equipment for safe operation. - Maintain high security to prevent unauthorised access to pharmaceutical stock. **Required Skills**: - Strong attention to detail and accuracy. - Basic IT proficiency (recording systems, data entry). - Effective communication and team‑working abilities. - Initiative, time management, and adaptability. - Awareness of health & safety and security practices. - Ability to work independently within a structured training program. **Required Education & Certifications**: - GCSE in Mathematics and English (Grade 9–4, A*–C) required. - Level 2 apprenticeship in Supply Chain Warehouse Operations (or equivalent). - Relevant health & safety awareness (e.g., IOSH fundamentals) encouraged. ---
