Job Description
Job Title: Financial Controller Role Summary: Own the entire finance function in a fast‑paced, founder‑led business, delivering accurate month‑end close, board‑level reporting, robust financial controls, and a high‑performing finance team, while driving strategic decision‑making for self‑funded growth. Expectations: - Operate with full ownership and accountability for financial performance. - Deliver cash‑flow forecasting, liquidity protection, and cost‑effective solutions. - Influence senior leadership, challenge assumptions, and advocate for financially sound decisions. - Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and seasonality. Key Responsibilities: - Lead month‑end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial statements. - Produce insightful board‑level management reports and trend analysis. - Strengthen and maintain internal controls and financial governance. - Forecast weekly and long‑term cash flow; identify and mitigate liquidity risks. - Mentor, develop, and grow a high‑performing finance team. - Negotiate cost savings, challenge unnecessary spend, and protect margins. - Support strategic growth initiatives with financial analysis and modelling. - Collaborate cross‑functionally to align financial planning with operational execution. Required Skills: - Strong analytical, financial modelling, and reporting skills. - Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and influence. - Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure. - Proven ability to drive cost discipline and negotiate effectively. - Leadership experience in a small/medium enterprise or startup environment. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. - Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
