Power Business Development Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead business expansion for a continental infrastructure and energy investment firm, focusing on transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects across Africa. Drive opportunity identification, strategy formulation, and partnership development to secure new project pipelines and financial deals.
**Expectations**
- Deliver measurable revenue growth through new power sector contracts.
- Expand client base and strengthen relationships with utilities, EPCs, and financial institutions.
- Maintain rigorous compliance with project, financial, and regulatory standards.
- Provide strategic insights on market trends and emerging opportunities.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue business prospects in transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities across African markets.
- Lead proposal development, including technical, financial, and commercial components.
- Negotiate contracts, financing terms, and partnership agreements with stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams (engineering, finance, legal, operations) to align project objectives.
- Manage due diligence, risk assessment, and feasibility studies for prospective projects.
- Track performance metrics, forecasting, and pipeline health; report to senior leadership.
- Deliver market intelligence, benchmarking, and competitive analysis to inform strategy.
**Required Skills**
- Deep understanding of the power sector (distribution, transmission, renewables) and infrastructure financing models.
- Proven business development and sales experience in power/utility or renewable energy sectors.
- Strong project finance, transaction structuring, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship‑building abilities.
- Analytical mindset with capacity to forecast and evaluate project viability.
- Ability to lead cross‑disciplinary collaboration and drive accountability.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Master’s degree (MEng, MFin, MBA) preferred for senior‑level impact.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Power Project Management, or comparable) advantageous.
