Job Description: Job title: Fall 2026 Intern Onboard Infrastructure Engineer Role Summary: Support autonomous trucking platform development by owning and advancing a real‑world onboard infrastructure project. Work with a production‑grade codebase, collaborating daily with software and hardware engineers. Expectations: • Demonstrate self‑directed learning and rapid skill acquisition in C++ and embedded systems. • Produce clean, high‑quality code on a 12‑16‑week internship. • Communicate progress clearly in team meetings and documentation. • Show a “can‑do” attitude and embrace challenging, ill‑defined problems. Key Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and test onboard infrastructure modules (networking, sensor data pipelines, resource‑constrained software). • Integrate and validate hardware sensors (LIDAR, radar, camera) with software stack. • Collaborate with peers on code reviews, version control (git), and continuous integration pipelines. • Optimize real‑time performance and resource utilization. • Diagnose and resolve field‑level issues in a fast‑paced, production environment. Required Skills: • Proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20) and object‑oriented design. • Experience with embedded or real‑time software development. • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, and time‑synchronization protocols (e.g., PTP). • Familiarity with sensor data processing and hardware integration. • Comfortable with git, code reviews, and continuous integration workflows. • Strong analytical skills in linear algebra and calculus. • Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
