Job title: IT Projects Portfolio Manager – Pharma (M/F)
Role Summary
Lead and oversee the entire IT project portfolio for a global pharmaceutical group, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, maintaining governance processes, and driving best practices across all project types (applications, infrastructure, process improvements). Act as the primary point of reference for project methodology, coaching project leaders, and coordinating cross‑functional reviews with Finance, Procurement, and senior management.
Expectations
- Deliver a consolidated, up‑to‑date view of all IT initiatives in all stages (pre‑planning, execution, hyper‑care).
- Enforce governance, milestone compliance (including Go/No‑Go), and reporting standards across the portfolio.
- Manage budgetary oversight, CAPEX validation, and ensure alignment with financial and procurement requirements.
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and the adoption of robust project management practices within the IT department.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and enforce portfolio governance processes, tools, and steering committee cadence.
- Maintain and publish portfolio dashboards, ensuring project owners provide accurate status updates.
- Monitor portfolio health, trigger escalations, and issue risk/issue alerts to senior IT and project sponsors.
- Validate and prepare CAPEX submissions for group‑wide approval, coordinating with Finance and Procurement.
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert on project methodology; create training materials, templates, and guides.
- Coach and support junior project managers, promoting adherence to best practices and continuous learning.
- Communicate complex technical matters in plain language to diverse stakeholders.
- Identify and incubate process and technological innovations that enhance portfolio performance.
Required Skills
- Minimum 7 years of progressive IT project experience, including at least 5 years in a project leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of project management frameworks, portfolio governance, and change management.
- Strong financial acumen: budgeting, cost control, and CAPEX approval processes.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is an asset for international collaboration.
- Excellent leadership, influence, and team‑motivation capabilities.
- Superior communication, active listening, and pedagogical skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Innovative mindset, curiosity, and a disciplined, results‑driven approach.
Required Education & Certifications
- Engineering, Master’s degree, or equivalent Bac+4/5 in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven analytical and organizational competencies strengthened by formal project management training (e.g., PMP, Prince2, or equivalent).
- Pharmaceutical sector exposure is a plus but not mandatory.
