Job Description

Job Title: Lead Engineer – Python Role Summary: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary squad (≈8 engineers) on backend and related services, ensuring timely delivery, high quality, and technical excellence for AI-driven clinical trial SaaS products. Expectations: - Start as a senior engineer to understand the stack, then transition to squad lead. - Collaborate closely with Product Owner, designers, and cross‑functional teams. - Drive technical direction, architecture, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Lead squad planning, task prioritization, and release cadence. - Conduct peer code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior engineers. - Resolve technical impediments, performance bottlenecks, and architectural challenges. - Ensure robust test coverage (unit, integration) and maintain delivery quality. - Engage in architecture design of backend components (APIs, data models). - Promote adoption of best practices in CI/CD, security, and scalability. - Observe emerging tech trends relevant to Python, cloud, and analytics services. Required Skills: - 7+ years OOP experience, 2+ years in a lead/tech‑lead role. - Deep proficiency with Python backend development (frameworks such as Pyramid or equivalent). - Strong database knowledge (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling. - Experience designing and exposing RESTful APIs. - Familiarity with unit & integration testing, TDD/BDD patterns. - Proficient in agile methodologies and collaborative tools. - Excellent communication, decision‑making, and mentorship capabilities. - Capable of troubleshooting complex performance, concurrency, and architectural problems. Required Education & Certifications: - Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. *Nice to have:* Knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes), microservices, SaaS/Cloud solutions, message brokers (ZeroMQ, RabbitMQ), WebSockets, CI/CD pipelines, and data visualization (D3.js).
