Job Description
**Job Title** Legal Counsel **Role Summary** Provide on‑call legal support and contract management for a life‑sciences technology company. Draft, review, negotiate, and execute complex cross‑border commercial agreements while advising on data protection, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. **Expectations** - 3–4 years post‑qualification as a qualified attorney. - Proven experience in a law firm or structured in‑house legal team. - Deep understanding of European legal systems, Belgian commercial law, and GDPR. - Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and deliver high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment. **Key Responsibilities** - Draft, negotiate, and administer international commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, and terms & conditions. - Manage the complete contract lifecycle: template creation, negotiation, execution, and internal release. - Maintain and update legal templates and playbooks to reflect current legislation. - Advise on data privacy and compliance, including GDPR and other regulatory frameworks. - Support corporate housekeeping, entity documentation, and filings. - Provide ad‑hoc legal counsel to cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders. - Engage with external counsel on complex matters and filings. **Required Skills** - Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. - Extensive knowledge of European legal frameworks, Belgian commercial law, and GDPR. - Experience with technology contracts, especially SaaS licensing. - Familiarity with pharma/medical compliance (e.g., GxP) and life‑science technology sectors. - Proficiency in English drafting and negotiation; French strong working proficiency. - Comfortable using AI‑enabled tools to enhance legal processes. **Required Education & Certifications** - Qualified lawyer with a recognised law degree and admission to the bar. - Certification or training in corporate law, contract law, or data protection (preferred).
