**Job title:** Volunteering Programmes Officer **Role Summary:** Entry‑level professional supporting the Volunteering Programmes Manager in delivering and expanding the Ambassador and School Talks programmes for an LGBT+ youth charity. Provides administrative coordination, volunteer training, first‑line support, and contributes to programme evaluation, marketing, and event representation. **Expactations:** - Demonstrate strong organisational, administrative and communication abilities. - Show eagerness to learn and develop a career in the voluntary sector. - Deliver reliable, courteous service to a diverse volunteer community (350+ volunteers). - Work collaboratively across programme teams and maintain accurate records and reporting. - Uphold the charity’s inclusive values; candidates from under‑represented backgrounds are especially encouraged. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage day‑to‑day administration of the Ambassador and School Talks programmes (recruitment, training, scheduling, engagement). - Deliver weekend and online training sessions for ambassadors across the UK. - Act as primary contact for volunteers: respond to enquiries, moderate group chats, and maintain inboxes. - Coordinate school bookings, volunteer assignments, and logistical support for School Talk deliveries. - Represent the organisation at conferences, Pride events, and fairs. - Ensure volunteers receive a positive, recognized experience and understand impact. - Assist in creating volunteer resources and updating the resource library. - Support monitoring and evaluation: distribute surveys, collect case studies, and analyse data for impact reporting. - Contribute to marketing and communications (draft emails, update newsletters, social media support). **Required Skills:** - Excellent written and verbal communication. - High‑level organisational and time‑management skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams). - Experience with volunteer or client database management (CRM preferred). - Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team. - Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with diverse youth and adult audiences. - Basic data collection and reporting competency. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum: A‑levels or equivalent; preferably a bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Social Sciences, Humanities, nonprofit management, education, or community development). - Relevant voluntary sector or youth‑work experience acceptable in lieu of formal degree. - No specific certifications required; first‑aid or safeguarding training considered advantageous.
