Job Description
**Job Title:** Musician – Showcase Tour Program (Canada Wide) **Role Summary:** Provide high‑quality live performances at festivals, community celebrations, tourism initiatives, and agricultural fairs across Canada. Participants rehearse daily, master new repertoire, engage in career‑development workshops, and support company programs while maintaining professional conduct and safety standards. **Expectations:** - Demonstrate fluency and mastery on the instrument. - Attend all scheduled rehearsals, performances, and training sessions. - Travel to events, including overnight stays, and operate personal mobile device with data for communication. - Submit professional audition materials (artistic resume, cover letter, headshot, EPK, biography, discography, social media statistics, career goals, grant history, and a 2–3 minute live audition video). - Follow health and safety protocols, use PPE, and wear program apparel/ID. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Learn, rehearse, and memorize new repertoire, applying live‑performance techniques. 2. Participate in workshops and skill‑building activities to develop professional performance standards. 3. Deliver engaging, family‑friendly performances at public and quasi‑public events, maintaining appropriate volume levels. 4. Safely set up and take down personal performance equipment. 5. Complete administrative tasks: SOCAN notifications, HRIS clock‑in/out, daily shift reports, and other assigned paperwork. 6. Represent the program at job fairs, networking events, schools, and other approved venues. 7. Support company initiatives (e.g., No More Starving Artists Program, wellness programs). 8. Respond to inquiries via email, Slack, or other electronic channels in a timely, professional manner. 9. Maintain professional behavior and confidentiality within the workplace. **Required Skills:** - Instrument proficiency with demonstrated mastery. - Live‑performance experience and independent rehearsal discipline. - Strong verbal and written communication. - Ability to travel and work long, often overnight, days. - Basic administrative competence (reporting, SOCAN, HRIS). - Physical stamina for equipment handling. - Digital literacy: EPK, social media, streaming analytics. **Required Education & Certifications:** - No specific degree required; must possess relevant music training or certifications that demonstrate instrument mastery (e.g., conservatory diploma, advanced performance certificate). - Legal eligibility to work in Canada. - Compliance with health and safety regulations (PPE, safety protocols).
