Job Description
**Job Title:** Key Stage 2 Class Teacher **Role Summary:** Full‑time permanent teacher responsible for delivering the Key Stage 2 curriculum in a Church of England primary school. The role starts in September 2026 and requires creating a high‑expectation, supportive learning environment for pupils aged 7‑11. **Expectations:** - Demonstrate outstanding classroom practice and set high academic expectations. - Exhibit passion for teaching and learning. - Maintain strong organisational and professional standards as a role model. - Show initiative, a positive attitude, and up‑to‑date knowledge of Assessment for Learning. - Deliver excellent lesson planning, assessment, and pupil progress monitoring. **Key Responsibilities:** - Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Key Stage 2 lessons across core subjects. - Use Assessment for Learning to track, analyse and report pupil progress. - Manage classroom behaviour and promote a safe, inclusive environment. - Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues. - Contribute to whole‑school initiatives, staff meetings and professional development. - Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, including enhanced DBS checks. - Maintain accurate records, lesson logs and student performance data. **Required Skills:** - Strong classroom management and behaviour‑support techniques. - Proficient in curriculum planning and differentiated instruction. - Expertise in formative and summative assessment practices. - Excellent organisational, time‑management and record‑keeping abilities. - Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Effective written and verbal communication skills. - Competency with ICT tools for teaching and assessment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England (or equivalent primary teaching qualification). - Relevant teaching degree or postgraduate qualification in education. - Successful completion of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
