**Job Title**
Principal DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead architectural design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS for a life‑sciences PLM platform. Own end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines, IaC strategy, and platform security, balancing performance, cost, and reliability in a fast‑growth environment.
**Expactations**
- Minimum 5 years DevOps experience focused on automation, tooling, and scalable distributed systems.
- Extensive AWS expertise (VPC, EKS, EC2, IAM, S3, etc.).
- Proven proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of monitoring/observability (Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch).
- Ability to work in PST or MST time zones; unrestricted right to work in the United States.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and build resilient, scalable AWS cloud environments from scratch.
- Develop and maintain IaC workflows using Terraform and Ansible.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines across Dev, QA, Staging, and Prod.
- Ensure platform reliability, availability, performance, and security; minimize downtime.
- Advise on and implement security, scalability, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally on tool integration, methodology adoption, and policy enforcement.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous performance improvements.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions.
**Required Skills**
- AWS core services: VPC, EKS, EC2, IAM, S3, etc.
- Container orchestration: Kubernetes.
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible.
- CI/CD platforms: GitLab, Jenkins, or similar.
- Observability: Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch.
- Strong scripting (Bash, Python, or equivalent).
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Administrator, or similar.
