Job Title: Backend Engineer Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance distributed backend services and APIs to support AI infrastructure, focusing on resource efficiency and cost‑effective scalability. Expectations: - 5+ years of backend engineering in distributed systems. - Proven expertise in Go, Python, or equivalent. - Strong experience with API design (REST, GraphQL, gRPC). - Deep understanding of resource scheduling, orchestration, and system optimization under hardware constraints. - Proficiency in Linux, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes. - Ability to manage expensive resources with tight cost considerations. - Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, ambiguous startup environment. - Enthusiasm for solving novel AI infrastructure challenges beyond CRUD. Key Responsibilities: - Build and evolve scalable backend services and microservices. - Design and implement resource schedulers and orchestrators for AI workloads. - Develop robust APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) for internal and external consumption. - Optimize system performance and reduce operational costs through code and infrastructure tuning. - Maintain Docker images, Kubernetes deployments, and CI/CD pipelines. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to iterate quickly and respond to changing requirements. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system reliability and uptime.
