Job Description
Job title: AI & Machine Learning Compliance Technology Officer Role Summary: Officer‑level analyst responsible for designing, testing, and monitoring AI/ML models that detect financial crime. Works with large transactional datasets, collaborates with data scientists, engineers, ethics and compliance teams, and ensures models are auditable, explainable, and meet regulatory standards. Expactations: Deliver high‑quality, production‑grade models with low false‑positive rates; maintain clear documentation for audit; provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders; manage multiple user stories in an Agile environment; communicate results to both technical and non‑technical audiences; update and triage issues promptly. Key Responsibilities: • Develop, validate, and tune AML, sanctions, and transaction‑monitoring ML models. • Perform data exploration, feature engineering, and transformation on large datasets. • Train and evaluate models using metrics such as precision, recall, and false‑positive reduction. • Conduct model validation, including false‑positive/false‑negative analysis with compliance teams. • Document models (assumptions, methodology, limitations) for regulatory review. • Monitor model performance, detect drift or data quality issues, and recommend remediation. • Integrate models with data pipelines, resolving data and integration challenges. • Participate in Agile ceremonies, write user stories, test, and support UAT. • Maintain BRDs, data mapping documents, and user acceptance documentation. • Escalate critical issues and resolve cross‑functional technical gaps. Required Skills: • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML libraries (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). • Strong knowledge of supervised learning, basic unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and bias mitigation. • Experience with large, complex transactional or reference datasets. • Understanding of data quality, class imbalance, and model interpretability challenges. • Familiarity with AML, sanctions, fraud detection, or regulated compliance analytics is highly desirable. • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills; ability to explain complex results to diverse audiences. • Self‑directed, deadline‑conscious, and collaborative in cross‑functional teams.
