**Job Title**
Infrared Stealth and Simulation Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and validate high‑fidelity numerical simulations that reduce infrared and radar detectability of missile systems. Work with interdisciplinary teams to model sensor signatures, process experimental data, and integrate simulation tools into design workflows.
**Expectations**
- Deliver accurate simulation results that inform missile design decisions.
- Collaborate with experts in infrared stealth, sensors, aerodynamics, propulsion, thermal management, and materials.
- Lead or support projects involving new simulation codes, libraries, and post‑processing workflows.
- Communicate findings to engineering teams and stakeholders through reports and presentations.
- Continuously improve simulation efficiency and accuracy, especially on high‑performance computing resources.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain specialized simulation codes in MATLAB, C, Java, Python, and Fortran.
- Create and validate 3D CAD models, generate meshes, and perform numerical campaigns using FEM/CFD tools.
- Execute infrared and radar signature simulations on HPC platforms (e.g., supercomputers).
- Process simulation outputs and experimental data, applying advanced post‑processing techniques.
- Perform signature studies across various sub‑systems and operating conditions.
- Interface with cross‑functional teams (electro‑optics, aerodynamics, thermal, mechanical, materials) to align simulation outputs with design requirements.
- Coordinate collaborative projects with academic institutions, SMEs, or national laboratories.
- Document simulation methods, validation procedures, and results for internal and external auditors.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives.
**Required Skills**
- Strong programming proficiency in MATLAB, C, Java, Python, and Fortran.
- Expertise in 3D CAD, meshing, and finite element/finite volume simulation for infrared and radar phenomena.
- Experience with high‑performance computing (parallel programming, job scheduling).
- Proficiency in data analysis and post‑processing (Python, MATLAB, or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of electromagnetic (radar) and thermal (infrared) physics applied to stealth.
- Ability to translate sensor physics into numerical models and interpret results.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset, with a track record of working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience with simulation tools in the defense or aerospace domain is preferred.
- Certificates in high‑performance computing or advanced simulation methodologies are an advantage but not mandatory.
