**Job Title**
SSG Site Manager – Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL)
**Role Summary**
Lead and coordinate all security and operational services at DSTL Porton Down/Portsdown West. Serve as the primary liaison between SSG, DSTL leadership, contractors, and site users. Ensure the site operates safely, securely, and in full compliance with MOD security, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
**Expectations**
- Maintain a 60 % on‑site presence during the working week.
- Deliver a secure, compliant, and efficient site environment that meets MOD and DSTL priorities.
- Provide timely incident response, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of site operations.
- Manage budgets, procurement, and resources to achieve cost‑effective service delivery.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversight of all security operations, including implementation of MOD policies, security assessments, audits, and incident coordination.
- Management of SSG services such as facilities, logistics, maintenance, and contractor support.
- Enforcement of health, safety, and environmental legislation; conduct risk assessments and promote a safety culture.
- Act as the main point of contact for all site stakeholders and resolve issues promptly.
- Leadership and performance management of SSG staff and contractors.
- Development and execution of site management plans, performance monitoring, and reporting to stakeholders.
- Budget stewardship, resource allocation, and contract procurement for site‑related services.

- PMP or equivalent project management credential is an advantage.
