**Job title**: Lead Data Scientist – BI Prediction
**Role Summary**:
Senior data scientist responsible for leading the BI/Prediction squad, overseeing the end‑to‑end development of high‑performance machine learning models and scalable production pipelines that drive growth decisions across user acquisition, monetization, and product performance in a mobile gaming environment.
**Expectations**:
- Direct and mentor a small team of data scientists, fostering technical excellence and autonomy.
- Own modeling pipelines and ML production systems from conception through deployment and monitoring.
- Translate business requirements into data‑driven solutions that deliver measurable ROI.
- Champion rigorous experimentation, reproducibility, and best practices in MLOps.
- Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to product managers, engineering, and senior stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Design, develop, and maintain predictive models (e.g., LTV, offer optimization, time‑series confidence intervals).
- Build and operate scalable ML engineering workflows using Python, SQL, Airflow, DBT, and cloud (AWS preferred).
- Conduct deep data analysis to uncover actionable insights and validate model assumptions.
- Establish and enforce ML best practices, experiment design, version control, and model reproducibility.
- Monitor model performance, diagnose drift, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to align models with business objectives and product roadmaps.
- Mentor junior scientists, facilitate knowledge transfer, and promote a culture of impact‑driven research.
**Required Skills**:
- Extensive experience building production‑grade machine learning systems.
- Expertise in Python, SQL, and MLOps tools (model deployment, CI/CD, monitoring).
- Cloud platform experience (AWS preferred; alternative clouds acceptable).
- Familiarity with Airflow and DBT is a plus.
- Proven ability to communicate complex concepts in English and French.
- Strong analytical mindset, statistical rigor, and experience with time‑series, forecasting, and experimentation.
- Prior exposure to fast‑moving tech startups or scale‑ups.
- Notable achievements on Kaggle or similar platforms are highly valued.
**Required Education & Certifications**:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Certifications in machine learning, data engineering, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Cloud ML Engineer) are advantageous.
