**Job Title:** Business Analyst – Data Protection – Property
**Role Summary**
Provide strategic business analysis for a major data‑protection focused systems project within the property sector. Drive the definition and documentation of current and future state processes, conduct gap analysis, develop business requirements, maintain a prioritized backlog, and evaluate solutions, business cases, and associated risks.
**Expectations**
- Deliver clear, actionable business insight that aligns with data protection standards and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to capture requirements and manage the change process.
- Support early decision‑making through accurate risk assessment and solution appraisal.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Map current (as‑is) and future (to‑be) business processes, including data flows, controls and compliance checkpoints.
- Perform gap analysis between existing operations and target state, highlighting critical improvement areas.
- Elicit, document, and validate business requirements for system enhancements or new implementations.
- Create and maintain a product backlog, prioritising items based on data‑protection impact, risk, and stakeholder value.
- Review proposed solutions and business cases, assessing feasibility, cost, and data‑protection compliance.
- Identify, articulate, and mitigate risks related to data handling, security, and regulatory obligations.
- Communicate analysis findings to technical teams, decision makers, and external vendors.
**Required Skills**
- Minimum 5 years business analysis experience on data protection / privacy projects (non‑technical).
- Deep knowledge of GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and related privacy regulations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills; ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into business terms.
- Proven experience in current/future state analysis, as‑is/to‑be process mapping, and operating model definition.
- Familiarity with ERP implementations (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Analytical mindset with excellent documentation, prioritisation and problem‑solving abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, Information Systems, Law, or related field from a recognised institution.
- Professional certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) and/or data privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CPDP) is desirable.
