Job Description
**Job Title:** Junior Merchandiser **Role Summary:** Support the Senior Merchandiser in driving sales, margin, and stock performance for the dresses category. Conduct weekly trade reviews, assist in range planning, and collaborate with buying, design, e‑commerce, and marketing teams to optimize product profitability in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment. **Expectations:** - Demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills. - Prioritize tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines. - Communicate clearly with cross‑functional teams. - Show willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to continuous improvement. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform weekly trade reviews of sales, inventory, and margin; identify opportunities and risks. - Recommend markdowns and promotional activities to maximize sell‑through and profit. - Assist in developing seasonal strategies alongside buying, design, and senior merchandiser. - Build and trade commercial ranges to reduce markdown risk and drive profitability. - Review and rebalance ranges pre‑season and in‑season to maximize performance. - Manage department line cards to ensure key style availability. - Plan, reforecast, and monitor category weekly sales & stock indicators (WSSIs); present findings to senior management. - Analyze historical sales trends to inform strategic trading decisions. - Prepare sign‑off packs and support seasonal range and buy approvals. - Coordinate product launches with e‑commerce and marketing to align campaigns with sales goals. - Coach and develop the Merchandising Admin Assistant, overseeing daily tasks and progression. - Manage critical path with buying team; attend weekly supplier calls. - Oversee intake coordination with logistics and warehouse, forecast accurate intake levels. **Required Skills:** - Strong analytical and quantitative abilities; proficiency in Excel or similar tools. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. - Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management capabilities. - Basic understanding of merchandising, buying, and product lifecycle concepts. - Proficiency with merchandising or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Retail Management, or a related field. - Relevant internships or entry‑level experience in merchandising, retail planning, or product analysis preferred. - No specific certifications required; professional development in data analysis or merchandising is advantageous.
