Job Description

Job title: Software Developer Role Summary: Experienced PHP developer responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing production PHP applications, enhancing JavaScript user journeys, and designing MariaDB databases. Works on live systems handling sensitive data, ensuring security, reliability, and compliance, while collaborating on code reviews and providing technical guidance. Expectations: - Deliver high‑quality, maintainable code in a hybrid environment. - Make independent technical decisions and maintain system stability. - Operate within regulated or compliance‑driven settings. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain PHP applications in production. - Add and improve JavaScript features for user interactions. - Design, implement, and tune MariaDB databases for performance and accuracy. - Ensure application security, reliability, and auditability. - Diagnose and resolve live environment issues with minimal downtime. - Write clear, readable code for team collaboration. - Participate in code reviews and technical discussions. - Mentor and support junior developers when needed. Required Skills: - Proven experience as a PHP developer. - Strong JavaScript proficiency, including API integration. - Familiarity with cloud‑hosted environments (e.g., AWS). - Experience working on live systems with real users and data. - Solid understanding of security and data protection principles. - Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions. - Comfortable working with legacy or inherited codebases. - Experience in regulated or compliance‑driven environments. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, PHP certification) are an advantage but not mandatory.
