Job Description: Job title: Cyber Security Engineer Role Summary: Safeguard the organisation’s digital assets by managing incident response, optimizing security tools, ensuring policy compliance across on‑premises and cloud environments, and driving the implementation of effective security controls. Expactations: Maintain a resilient security posture, promptly remediate incidents, continuously improve tooling and processes, deliver security awareness training, and support risk management initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Respond to and manage security incidents from SOC, Cyber Security, and IT Service Desk alerts. - Monitor, maintain, and optimise security platforms (Microsoft Defender, Azure Sentinel, Nessus). - Conduct security and compliance assessments for Windows/Linux servers, networking, cloud services (Office 365, Salesforce), and web applications. - Develop and deliver security awareness content and training. - Research, recommend, and implement security controls; track mitigation actions. - Collaborate with IT and business teams to align security strategies with operational needs. Required Skills: - Proven experience in a security engineer/incident response role. - Proficiency with Microsoft security stack, network security, identity management, and scripting (PowerShell, Bash). - Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences. - Familiarity with encryption, vulnerability scanning, and compliance frameworks. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field (or equivalent experience). - CompTIA Security+ (or comparable security engineering certification). - Prior experience managing Microsoft Defender, Azure Sentinel, and Nessus is highly desirable.
