Job Description
**Job Title:** R&D Engineer (Environmental Instrumentation) **Role Summary:** Lead the development, continuous improvement, and certification of ambient‑air analyzer products, reporting to the R&D Director. Drive innovation, define technical specifications, manage multi‑project timelines, and ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. **Expectations:** - Deliver innovative solutions and product enhancements meeting market and customer demands. - Produce clear, feasible technical specifications in collaboration with cross‑functional teams. - Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and maintain project schedules. - Support other departments and customers with technical expertise. - Contribute to R&D tax‑credit reporting and maintain competitive and scientific intelligence. **Key Responsibilities:** - Define and manage product development plans, objectives, and deadlines. - Organize and conduct testing campaigns; analyze results and oversee product certification. - Prepare technical documentation in French and English (specifications, test reports, certification files). - Implement continuous‑improvement actions within the quality‑management framework (non‑conformities, customer complaints, improvement sheets). - Provide operational support to internal teams and external clients. - Draft reports for Crédit Impôt Recherche (R&D tax credit). - Perform competitive and bibliographic monitoring. **Required Skills:** - PhD in applied physics, optics, or a closely related field. - Strong knowledge of metrology and atmospheric pollutant measurement. - Proven experience in scientific instrumentation development; experimental aptitude. - Familiarity with gas chromatography and micro‑sensor technologies (preferred). - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; strong analytical and synthesis skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent English (mandatory). - Good interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Doctorate (PhD) in applied physics, optics, or equivalent. - No specific certifications required; professional experience in instrumentation is essential.
