Job Description
**Job Title:** IT Infrastructure Engineer **Role Summary:** Implement, manage, and support the organization’s data network and computer systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and security standards are met. Provide second- and third‑line technical support, advise peers, and contribute to infrastructure projects while maintaining cost‑effective and environmentally responsible operations. **Expectations:** - Resolve IT support tickets promptly and efficiently. - Maintain high standards of system performance, security, and compliance. - Participate in on‑call rotation and act as a local technical reference. - Promote best practices in hardware, software, and IT security. - Contribute to continuous improvement of network services and cost reduction initiatives. **Key Responsibilities:** - Install, configure, relocate, and decommission hardware and software. - Diagnose and remediate complex integrated service issues; escalate when required. - Provide robust second‑ and third‑line support for the service desk. - Deliver data services and ensure secure, reliable network operations. - Advise and mentor network and server team members. - Support design, planning, and project management of data storage/network infrastructure changes. - Monitor and enforce security policies across all IT systems. - Ensure all new hardware/software meets compatibility and standards for smooth transitions. - Raise the IT service profile through timely, effective service delivery. - Identify problem resolution pathways, allocate resources, and oversee quality of work. **Required Skills:** - Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewalls. - Proficiency with Windows/Linux server environments and virtualization technologies. - Experience in hardware/software installation, configuration, and decommissioning. - Skilled in troubleshooting complex IT issues and providing second/third‑line support. - Understanding of IT security best practices and compliance frameworks. - Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and work autonomously. - Excellent communication and peer‑coaching abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or equivalent. - ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
