**Job title:** Data Architect
**Role Summary:**
Design and implement enterprise data architecture that aligns with business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, and engineering teams to model, govern, and integrate data across systems. Ensure data quality, consistency, and efficient access through robust schemas, governance policies, and tooling.
**Expactations:**
- Deliver scalable data models and architecture designs that meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain high data quality and governance standards across data lifecycle.
- Translate functional requirements into technical solutions, data pipelines, and governance policies.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop entity‑relationship, dimensional, and other logical schemas for relational, NoSQL, and cloud‑based databases.
- Define and enforce data governance frameworks including catalogues, dictionaries, lineage, and policy management.
- Design and manage ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring data transformation, integration, and migration across platforms.
- Apply data profiling, cleansing, validation, and auditing to maintain data integrity.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture requirements, provide architecture guidance, and prioritize data initiatives.
- Optimize data storage, query performance, and overall system architecture for scalability and reliability.
- Document architecture designs, governance policies, and operational procedures.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficient in database design and management for SQL, NoSQL, and cloud databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Google BigQuery).
- Strong data modelling expertise (ER diagrams, dimensional modelling, schema design).
- Experienced with data integration tools: ETL/ELT platforms (Talend, Informatica, Apache Nifi, dbt, Airflow).
- Skilled in data quality solutions: profiling, cleansing, validation, auditing.
- Knowledge of data governance tools: metadata catalogues, data dictionaries, lineage tracking, policy enforcement.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture and data pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data security, privacy regulations, and compliance requirements.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Google Professional Data Engineer, AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Informatica Certified Professional) are highly desirable.
