Job Description
Job Title: Business Manager Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end client acquisition and staffing for a sustainability consulting agency. Manage a portfolio of corporate clients, recruit qualified engineers, and mentor a team of junior business engineers to deliver projects that meet client needs and company margins. Expectations: - Rapidly gain full ownership of the client lifecycle through structured training. - Build a strong pipeline of qualified prospects and secure new contracts. - Achieve sales targets and drive margin growth via commission structure. - Transition into a senior management role overseeing larger teams. Key Responsibilities: 1. Prospection & Sales - Conduct cold outreach and schedule discovery calls with decision‑makers. - Identify and articulate opportunities for new contracts. - Prepare and present proposals, negotiate terms, and close agreements. 2. Recruitment & Talent Matching - Source, assess, and onboard engineers aligned with client project requirements. - Maintain talent pipeline and manage candidate relationships. 3. Team Leadership - Mentor and coach junior business engineers. - Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and promote professional development. 4. Project & Revenue Management - Track sales pipeline, forecast revenue, and report margin performance. - Coordinate with project leads to ensure delivery aligns with contractual commitments. Required Skills: - Commercial acumen: prospecting, negotiation, closing, account management. - Talent acquisition: sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding specialized talent. - Leadership & coaching: team management, performance development. - Strong communication in English and French (written & verbal). - CRM and sales analytics proficiency. - Self‑motivated, resilient, results‑driven. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Management from an accredited institution. - Previous experience as a Business Engineer, Sales Engineer, or similar role in engineering/energy consultancy preferred. - Certifications such as PMP, CSPO, or relevant sales training are an advantage.
