DevOps Tooling Engineer (Windows)
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, implementation, and operational support of secure DevSecOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines within a Windows Server 22 environment. Act as a technical advisor and evangelist for DevOps and automation practices, ensuring alignment with security requirements and business outcomes across an agile, cross‑functional team.
**Expectations**
- Manage end‑to‑end deployment of third‑party thick‑client applications in a secure Windows environment.
- Drive the adoption of DevSecOps tooling, including automated build, test, release, and vulnerability review processes.
- Operate within an agile sprint‑based lifecycle (SAFe preferred) and collaborate closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and security consultants.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for application integration and security validation throughout the delivery pipeline.
- Own the design decisions, risk assessments, and implementation plans for DevSecOps tooling, ensuring deliverables meet accreditation and security standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Evaluate application impact against target operating environments and sponsor initial vulnerability analysis.
2. Deploy and integrate third‑party applications on thick‑client Windows devices, ensuring secure configuration and scalability.
3. Lead technical design, implementation, and delivery of DevSecOps tooling (CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, security scanning).
4. Collaborate with the Tech Lead, Application Engineer, Security Consultant, and Test Lead to validate security compliance and achieve accreditation.
5. Define and manage work priorities, risks, and dependencies with DevSecOps Tech Lead and agile stakeholders.
6. Plan and contribute to team capacity planning and release planning activities.
7. Define and document support procedures in coordination with Service/Support teams.
8. Advocate and train peers on best practices for DevOps, automation, and security tooling.
**Required Skills**
- Deep experience with application deployment and integration on Windows Server 22, using PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, and Azure Pipelines.
- Proven track record in configuring CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including automated build, test, release, and compliance checks.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, PKI, SQL Server, and Windows security hardening.
- Familiarity with security tooling: Azure Key Vault, SAST, DAST, SCA, artifact repositories, and package managers.
- Agile/scrum experience, ideally within SAFe, with ability to manage sprint planning, backlog refinement, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- DevSecOps mindset, capable of integrating security into every stage of the CI/CD lifecycle.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Ansible Automation Engineer are desirable but not mandatory.
