**Job Title:** Software Asset Manager
**Role Summary:**
Lead a high‑impact Java remediation programme, driving discovery, assessment, risk analysis, and remediation actions to reduce operational, technical, and commercial risk. The role coordinates with technical, operational, and business stakeholders, translates inventory data into actionable plans, and delivers concise executive reporting.
**Expectations:**
- Own the Java remediation strategy from discovery through implementation.
- Ensure timely identification, prioritisation, and execution of remediation tasks.
- Maintain clear communication channels and alignment across technical teams, application owners, and executive stakeholders.
- Deliver regular executive‑level updates on risks, priorities, and progress.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead Java asset discovery using Snow Atlas or equivalent SAM tools; analyse installations, validate usage, and assess footprint and risk.
- Design and drive remediation pathways (uninstall, upgrade, replacement, migration to OpenJDK/Azul).
- Identify licensing, contractual, and vendor dependencies; evaluate Java licensing risk and prioritise high‑risk areas.
- Coordinate remediation across technical teams, manage exceptions, risks, and resource allocation.
- Serve as the primary contact for the Java remediation workstream, ensuring transparent communication of plans, risks, and dependencies.
- Produce concise, executive‑level reports on headline risks, priorities, recommendations, and progress.
- Support delivery planning: timeline shaping, scoping of effort, and resource alignment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to validate usage, agree on remediation plans, and manage exceptions.
**Required Skills:**
- Hands‑on experience analysing Java estates with Snow Atlas or similar SAM/inventory tools.
- Deep understanding of Java licensing models, vendor changes, and associated risk.
- Proven stakeholder management and communication skills across technical, operational, and business audiences.
- Ability to translate technical and licensing data into actionable remediation steps.
- Experience in large enterprise environments with SAM/ITAM, compliance, or optimisation responsibilities.
- Background in remediation programmes, application modernisation, or technology risk reduction.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Software Asset Management or IT Asset Management.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCA, Zendesk, ITIL Foundation, Certified ITAM Professional) are highly desirable.
