Job Description
Job Title: Systems Security Engineer Role Summary: Provide cyber‑physical embedded system security for defense products; apply secure, resilient engineering across the product lifecycle and collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to meet customer and regulatory requirements. Expactations: • Obtain and maintain U.S. high‑level security clearance (security clearance required). • Demonstrate a solid foundation in secure engineering practices, including RMF, NIST SP 800‑160, DO‑326, and DoDI 5000.8. • Show a proactive learning mindset and ability to adapt to evolving security threats and technologies. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement systems security and resilience strategies in partnership with core security and LibertyWorks teams. • Apply Secure Cyber Resilient Engineering (SCRE) principles throughout design, build, test, production, operations, and support phases. • Create digital models using model‑based systems engineering (MBSE). • Update and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization. • Collaborate with government, customers, suppliers, and industry experts to verify system security requirements. Required Skills: • Systems thinking and architecture analysis. • Knowledge of cybersecurity threat modeling, intrusion detection, digital forensics, risk assessment tools, and security solution design. • Proficiency with cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, NIST 800‑160, DO‑326, DoDI 5000.8). • Strong communication, time‑management, and cross‑functional collaboration abilities. • Ability to operate effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s (plus 1+ years experience) or Master’s (no experience) or PhD in STEM fields (CS, EE, etc.). • Must be U.S. citizen with ability to obtain high‑level security clearance. • Active security clearance (preferred).
