**Job Title:** Automation Manager (m/f)
**Role Summary:**
Leads the site automation team within the technical department, overseeing maintenance of existing automated systems and implementation of new ones. Drives technological vigilance, budget management, HSE and pharmaceutical compliance, and ensures alignment with global automation architecture and IT standards.
**Expectations:**
- Provide autonomous, rigorous leadership for a team of 5 technicians (internal & external).
- Ensure high equipment availability, safety, and quality while managing budgets and project timelines.
- Communicate effectively across functions (Production, Maintenance, Procurement, HSE, Quality, Global Engineering).
- Maintain fluency in English for professional meetings and documentation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Organize and coordinate process and infrastructure automation activities.
- Lead troubleshooting, upgrades, program backup, and documentation of automated systems (SIA).
- Deliver optimal support to Production and Maintenance, especially for complex automation.
- Collaborate with Reliability Engineer to maximize equipment uptime.
- Record interventions in SAP PM and oversee maintenance planning, execution, and control.
- Update technical documentation and propose equipment improvements.
- Define and maintain a replacement plan for obsolete systems.
- Manage the automation function’s operating budget and participate in investment projects as automation expert.
- Design functional architecture, select automation components (PLC, supervisory, field network).
- Support Toulouse Engineering on high‑impact projects; assess resource needs and provide project ownership from concept to qualification and operation.
- Execute and track assigned investment projects for site renovations and upgrades.
- Handle purchase requests, receptions, and creation/updating of specifications and standards.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong expertise in industrial automation, industrial networks, and building automation (GTC/BMS).
- Proficiency with project and budget management tools.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID, process, and instrumentation diagrams; conduct functional analyses for system integration.
- Excellent technical skills in PLC programming, supervisory control, industrial IT, and data acquisition.
- Strong leadership, initiative, decision‑making under pressure, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Fluent English (spoken and written) for professional interactions.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Engineering degree or professional bachelor’s in automation systems, industrial networks, or industrial IT (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation.
- No specific certifications listed; relevant industry training in automation, PLCs, or safety standards is advantageous.
