Job Description
**Job title:** Data Scientist **Role Summary:** Lead end‑to‑end machine‑learning projects for a large automotive marketplace, designing, building, and deploying data‑driven products such as personalized recommendations, search optimizations, AI‑based listing tools, and customer segmentation models. Work autonomously within a cross‑functional squad while collaborating closely with software engineers, data analysts, and product owners. **Expectations:** - Deliver production‑ready ML solutions with rigorous validation and scalability. - Translate business problems into data‑science models, communicating insights to non‑technical stakeholders. - Maintain high scientific standards across the ML lifecycle: data preparation, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration. - Participate in peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of team practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement ML pipelines using Python, Databricks, Spark, and MLFlow. - Develop, train, and evaluate models (supervised, unsupervised, or Bayesian) for recommendation, ranking, and classification tasks. - Collaborate with back‑end developers to integrate models into production services (Airflow, GCP). - Build and maintain data models in BigQuery & dbt; orchestrate data workflows with GCP pipelines. - Conduct statistical analysis, A/B testing, and causal inference to assess model impact. - Create clear documentation, reports, and demos for internal stakeholders. - Mentor junior analysts and contribute to community knowledge sites and workshops. **Required Skills:** - 3+ years of experience delivering data‑science solutions in commercial or research settings. - Strong grasp of ML algorithms, statistical methods, and hypothesis testing. - Proficiency in Python, Spark, and MLFlow; experience building end‑to‑end pipelines. - Familiarity with GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud AI) and orchestration tools (Airflow). - Knowledge of dbt and data modeling principles. - Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to non‑technical audiences. - Collaborative mindset; proven ability to work with software engineers, product managers, and data analysts. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related field (Master’s or PhD preferred). - Certifications in machine‑learning platforms or cloud technologies beneficial (e.g., Google Professional Data Engineer, Databricks Certified).
