Job Description
Job title: Data Analyst Role Summary: Recent graduate data analyst delivering actionable insights from diverse global datasets, building ETL pipelines, applying machine learning, and creating visual dashboards using SQL, Python, Power BI, and Databricks. Expectations: 2.1+ degree in a numerate or analytical discipline (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Earth Science, etc.); strong analytical and data‑handling aptitude; proficiency in SQL and Python; familiarity with Power BI and Databricks; excellent communication of findings; detail‑oriented, self‑motivated and quick to learn new tools; awareness of global trade, economics, and statistics. Key Responsibilities: - Extract, clean, transform, and load data using SQL, Python, and Databricks. - Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and databases. - Apply algorithmic and machine‑learning techniques to derive insights and validate data quality. - Build interactive visualisations and dashboards in Power BI. - Collaborate within an agile, cross‑functional team, communicating results clearly. - Document data workflows, modelling decisions, and best practices. - Support career progression into data science, engineering, or development roles. Required Skills: - SQL, Python programming, data manipulation (pandas, numpy, etc.). - Experience with Power BI and Databricks. - Fundamental knowledge of statistical analysis and machine‑learning basics. - Data pipeline design and ETL best practices. - Strong analytical reasoning, problem‑solving, and organisational skills. - Effective verbal and visual communication of complex findings. - Adaptability to new technologies and a proactive learning attitude. - Understanding of global trade, economics, and statistics is advantageous. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Earth Science, or related field with a minimum 2.1 classification. - No mandatory certifications, though training on Databricks and related tools will be provided.
